Jamie Doyle, 21st President of the FCM March 16, 2021-Present

“…our vision here at the FCM is for the younger generation. We want to lift them up, encourage them, and give them the tools to go out and share the Gospel in a really unique and really cool way. For as long as I am given to lead the FCM, we will focus on building up our membership with that younger generation…There’s just no other organization like the FCM.”

“I sat there for several nights, watching children’s evangelist, Dick Gruber, use juggling, crazy characters, cartoon lessons, puppetry and even some gospel magic to explain to a crowd of children how to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Along with my bother & sister, we went forward to receive salvation…I thought to myself, ‘Someday, I’m going to do what the man on stage is doing. There are so many children like me who need to hear this message!…’ “

” “As a child, I think I always had a fascination with magic and all things mysterious. It all began at my Grandparents’ home when I was only about 4 y.o. On the bookshelf…was a book called ‘Spooky Tircks’ by Rose Wyler and Gerald Ames…after my grandmother passed away…on my grandma’s desk, waiting for me, was Spooky Tricks. It is on my shelf today.

I also unearthed an old LP by ventriloquist, Jimmy Nelson…Soon, I was getting the plastic vent figures as Christmas gifts…

“Jamie’s fascination with magic continued with a first grade teacher who would do magic tricks and did a magic show for the school…a new Children’s Pastor, Carl Lindelien mentored Jamie and trained him in puppetry, juggling, gospel magic, and encouraged his interest in ventriloquism…Soon, Jamie was ministering to other children and eventually leading children’s church, performing for birthday parties, other church events, camps, kids crusades, community festivals , and family events…He then met Randy Christensen who encouraged and helped Jamie sharpen his skills. Randy showed Jamie the value of making sure any and every presentation is done with quality…

I was so glad to have a driver’s license so I could drive …to visit Eagle Magic and Twin Cities Magic and Costume. I loved seeing all those props and getting the guys behind the counter to demo the latest effect!”..

“At North Central University in Minneapolis, Jamie would meet “Big” Dan Rector as an instructor. Dan was instrumental in instilling into Jamie the idea of developing his material and presentations…Dan would also introduce Jamie to the FCM…”

“I’m thankful for the relationships built over the years–many of those relationships remain intact. I actually have a small group of FCM’ers with whom I collaborate when developing new material or just to brainstorm.”

“The FCM has been an integral part of Jamie’s ministry. He started lecturing at regional conferences in 1998 and those lectures inspired him to start writing down his ideas and routines into lecture notes and books…He has been active in FCM chapters in Minnesota, Colorado, and Indiana, serving as Vice President and President of the Rock Mountain Chapter…”

The first FCM International Convention that Jamie was able to attend (due to conflicts in his schedule) was in 2019. In 2020 he would take office as a Vice President and by Spring 2021 he would be Interim President, then elected President in July of 2021.

We can encourage friends and current ministry colleagues to consider membership within the FCM to gain the knowledge and tools to take back to their own ministries…

We’ve got to start developing resources that are available to those who are used to pulling something up on their smart phones or tablets…I encourage all o four members to put some of their routines, tricks, etc. online…”

“…The virtual meeting that are happening regularly via Zoom are a blast…As far as membership goes, our organization is strong. We’ve weathered a few minor things, but honestly, I’ve been able to connect personally with a lot of people…it’s an honor for me to be able to connect with them…I love hearing from and personally connecting with our membership…
